The glass-covered C8 engine bay looks incredible, but the openings that let heat escape also give water, dust and road debris several direct paths to the engine, transmission, wiring and controls. Speedway Composites developed this system as a set of functional gutters: each diverter catches contamination at a specific entry point and routes it toward a safe drain path before it lands on the components below.

Choose only the area you want to address or build a complete front, side and rear system. Every piece uses factory holes and screws, so the car does not need to be cut, drilled or permanently modified.

What Each Diverter Does

• Side Diverters: Water and debris enter through the three vents on each side of the rear glass. The side diverters sit below those vents, capture the material like a gutter and drain it into the gap between the rear struts and the surrounding black trim. This helps keep dust and debris off the engine, transmission and electrical components while driving—or even while the car is sitting in the garage.
• Rear Diverter: Runoff traveling down the rear glass would otherwise land on the engine, transmission and transmission controls. The rear piece catches that flow and directs it toward the gaps inward of the catalytic converters.
• Front Diverter: A surprising amount of water enters near the rear-view camera and can drain directly onto the Corvette-logo engine cover and accessory-belt area. The front diverter catches that water and feeds it toward the side-diverter route.
• All Diverters with Lights: Combines front, side and rear protection with bright red engine-bay LEDs on the front diverter.

Lighted Front Diverter

On applicable 2020–2025 cars, the red LED lights connect to the rear-glass defrost circuit so they can be activated from the engine compartment. A dedicated switch lets the lights and rear defrost operate independently: the lights can be on with the defrost off, or the defrost can operate without the lights.

For 2026 and later Coupes, the rear-glass defrost connection was eliminated. Speedway Composites therefore offers a front diverter without lights for those applications.

Cooling and Fitment

The diverters are offset from the factory vent openings and are engineered to leave more venting area than the original openings provide. Speedway Composites reports that test cars ran just as cool with the diverters installed, with testing indicating a slight cooling improvement from the more controlled, one-directional flow of hot air away from the car.
